Night BASE Jump is a brand campaign for PlayStation together with X Dubai, released in 2023. André Larsen was the FPV cinematographer on the project, flying the camera on a BASE jump filmed at night in Dubai.
Night work adds a layer of difficulty to FPV, because the pilot has to hold a precise line with far less light to see by.
For action and sports, an FPV drone can follow a moving athlete or vehicle through the air at speed and stay with the subject where a traditional aerial camera would fall behind.
André Larsen is a Norwegian FPV drone pilot and cinematographer based in Dubai since 2020. He went professional in 2017, won the GoPro Million Dollar Challenge in 2022, and flies commercials, films and live events across the UAE and worldwide.
